Built Design Collective
Modern. Santa Fe. Style.

our story

Our approach to design is both creative and pragmatic – we strive to make beautiful spaces that are livable, comfortable, stylish, and always a reflection of what is meaningful to our client.  Our designs embrace a modern, layered aesthetic that pays reverence to historical styles and structures, as well as international influences, while also respecting the surrounding environment.  Ultimately, we believe that good design nourishes the day-to-day life of its inhabitants.

Cara Scarola has spent the last ten years working as an interior designer on residential and commercial projects throughout the country.  She holds a Bachelor of Fine Art from Lewis and Clark College and a Master of Interior Architecture from the University of Oregon.  After several years working for design/build and boutique interior design firms, Cara established her own firm in 2009.  Whether designing floor plans, creating construction documents, or specifying finishes and furniture, she enjoys the design process and welcomes the opportunity to collaborate with other design and construction professionals.  Her work is heavily influenced by her travels throughout Europe, South America, and Asia, as well as her role as the mother of two young children.
